A hearty welcome from Avant Garde Driving School in the Moot area to all the learner drivers.
Today we will discuss the Turn-in-the-Road.
What is the turn in the road?
Did you ever hear about the three-point turn, or maybe the U-turn? Well, it is the same thing. What is in a name? The product remains the same, regardless of what it is called.
How to do the turn in the road.
1.) Do the proper observations as discussed in the article https://www.avantgardedrivingschool.co.za/2021/09/06/k53-observations/
2.) Move from the starting point until the curb (or white line during the test) almost disappears.
3.) Check the blind spot to the right and turn the wheel sharp to the right.
4.) Keep on moving slowly until the left front corner of your vehicle is in a straight line with the corner of the two curbs (or the white line and the curb).
5.) Straighten the wheel quickly and move slowly as far forward as possible. Be careful not to touch the white line or the curb.
6.) When you reach the furthest point before touching the curb or white line, stop.
7.) Put the gear into reverse and do the observations according to the K53 procedure.
8.) Start to reverse, quickly check the blind spot to the right, and turn the wheel sharp to the left.
9.) Keep moving slowly until the vehicle is ninety degrees with the front curb.
10.) Straighten the wheel quickly without rolling.
11.) Stop before touching the curb.
12.) Do the observations and put the vehicle in first gear.
13.) Move slowly forward, check the blind spot to the right, and turn sharp.
14.) Keep on moving slowly until you are in a straight line with the curb.
15.) Straighten the wheel quickly and stop before touching the stop line.
Please take note: each movement must be done without stopping between the pulling off and the end position.
From Avant Garde Driving School, the driving school near me in Pretoria, we wish you luck. Enjoy the driving and stay safe.
